St. Mary's AE Tournament 2016 - Game One
Game one of pool play was on Friday at lunchtime in St Mary's.

It was an entertaining tilt against the Oro-Medonte Thunder.

Huntsville went into the tournament short two players, forcing Matt Clarke to play wing for the first time this season.

Lots of physical play from the larger Oro team was matched pretty well by Huntsville, with Oro taking the first penalty at 2:45

Huntsville's power play never really got off the ground, and the period ended scoreless.

At 8:38 of period two Oro opened the scoring with a pretty tip on a slapshot from the point beating Parker Soberg-Dann high glove side.

A Huntsville penalty minutes later looked like it was really going to make things tough, but Cam Richardson and Teagen  Bennett stood tall with some great penalty killing to keep the deficit at one.

With only a couple minutes left on the clock Huntsville's ever increasing pressure finally paid dividends. After at least one chance by every one of the five Otters on the ice, the puck finally bounced in with 1:49 on the clock.

The last period the Otters kept pushing the Thunder over and over, but it was Oro that scored on their first chance of the segment at 9:52 stuffing home a rebound.

The Thunder managed to bring it home 2-1, leaving Huntsville still looking for it's first win.
