Nov 5th The Trappers Come Calling
The first game for the Otters in November was against a new opponent they hadn't seen before, in a rink they hadn't played in yet.  The  West Ferris Trappers brought 17 players and a group of enthusiastic fans to the Don Lough arena.

Right off the opening whistle Ferris was jumping, with a close play in Otters end off the first rush.

The Otters bounced right back, with Austin McKee scoring at the end of a pretty passing play by Cam Richardson from behind the net at 14:11.

The home team kept the pressure on, eventually getting a power play after the Trappers were called for interference at 9:46   The power play units got some chances, but nothing on the score sheet.

Ferris came back with some odd man rushes late in the period, but the plays were broken up neatly without shots to show for it.

The second started off slowly until Teagen Bennett rushed end to end to core glove high unassisted at 11:45 and give the home team a 2-0 lead.

A Huntsville tripping penalty at 11:33 saw the penalty killers continue their great track record of keeping  the opposition scoreless when short handed.

Ten minutes of even strength play changed little, until the Otters took another tripping call at 5:35.  The pk team again did yeoman's service, right up to the four on one breakaway for Ferris...  But even then the Trappers came away empty handed.

The third period changed the tone of the match a fair bit.

The very first shot of the frame Max Farr trapped against the post, with the referee calling no goal to the disappointment of the Ferris fans.  The Trappers seemed to share the frustration, taking a double minor for roughing seconds later.  The resulting power play never got any traction, coming away empty handed.

8:36 and the visitors finally get on the board, stuffing home a loose puck in crease.

The Otters answered with a goal of their own at 7:42 with Dillan Turvey scoring on a nice two on one breakaway from Cam Richardson.

At 6:20 the Trappers knocked down a clearing attempt and passed to the man left in the clear in front of the net, getting Ferris back within a goal.

A Huntsville tripping penalty at 5:17 was negated by a Ferris interference call at 5:06.  Then just after the penalties all expired Ben Aben fired home a rebound off the shot by Cam Richardson to restore the lead at 3:01.  Finally Cole Punchard salted away the win with a puck dug out by Austin McKee along the boards.

A 5-2 win for the home team!
