Oct 29th Penetang Flames - First of Back To Back
Saturday Oct 29th saw the Otters at home, with a pretty short bench.Only 10 skaters were available for the game, with Parker Soberg-Dunn starting in goal.

The Penetang Flames were at the St. Mary's tournament in the other pool, so Huntsville knew they were against a solid team.

Penetang came with a full roster ready to play.

The Flames started a bit shakey, with the Otters getting some nice early chances on loose pucks in the crease.

At 12:29 Huntsville's sputtering power play got a try after Penetang took a charging call, but didn't produce a lot of offence at first.

Then less than a minute later the Otters took an interference call, evening things back up.

Huntsville played out the four on four, then took another penalty for head contact at 10:38.

The penalty killing once again out shone the power play for the home team, with Penetang getting nothing from their man advantage.

The last nine minutes of the period were back and forth with traded chances, but zeros on the board at end of the first.

The second period saw the Otters strike early with Cole burying a pretty pass from Ben off a two on one at 13:09.

Huntsville's short bench seemed to slow the home side down for a while, with Penetang picking up an errant pass at 7:23 and sneaking it in to tie things back up.

The Otters tried to regain the lead with a couple of good chances right after the Penetang goal, but it was Penetang pulling ahead 2-1 after a bad line change
led to a Flames breakaway.

Penetang started to get in some penalty trouble, with elbowing at 5:00 and boarding at 3:20 for a short two man advantage, but the Otter power play was still firing blanks.

Max Farr took over the crease for the third period from an unwell Parker and was immediately dropped into the frying pan with a Penetang goal at 14:49

The goal seemed to wake up the home side, with Austin McKee scoring at 10:56 and Taylor Cotrill striking seconds later at 10:17 tying the game at three.

A third Otters goal to pull ahead from Cole Punchard at 9:42 was more than enough for the Penetang bench, who called a time out.

After the stoppage Huntsville again applied the bulk of the pressure, but an odd play where a puck covered by Max sprung loose for Penetang to tie it up again.

The goal got the Flames moving again.  Penetang dug at another puck frozen by Farr minutes later and got it into the net, but it was waved off as frozen and blown dead.

A Huntsville charging call at 3:36 put the Flames on a power play, and they capitalized right away with a high glove side shot from an odd angle finding the twine at 3:29

Penetang took a late penalty of their own at 1:32 for tripping, and even a second one for head contact at 0:25, but the Otters couldn't get it done, even with the goalie out for 6 on 3.

Penetang cleared the puck down into the empty net with one second on the clock to secure their 6-4 win.

An exciting game to watch, even if the result wasn't the best.
