Starting The Season Off With A Bang!
The Tawingo Bantam AE Otters started off their regular season with a bang, winning 6-2 in a patient come from behind effort.

The match got off to a nervous start, with the players almost as anxious as the parents in the stands.  As the first period progressed, Huntsville started to carry the balance of play spending most of their time in the Elmvale end with nothing to show for it.

Elmvale eventually scored off a solid point shot that was tipped through a crowd behind a well screened Parker Soberg-Dann.
After more solid play from Huntsville including a missed breakaway chance, a clearing attempt out of Huntsville's end bounced off an official straight to an Elmvale player who buried it for the 2-0 lead.

The second period saw more Huntsville hard work without result.
Even a late solid penalty kill couldn't help the team get on the board.

Queue the third period.

An early power play finally broke open the floodgates for Huntsville, with Austin McKee opening the scoring by shoving home a rebound at 13:38 from a Matt Clarke point shot.

Less than two minutes later Ben Aben tied the score finishing a pretty passing play behind the net from Ty Zanetti and Teagan Bennett.

Cole Punchard scored next at 7:29 from Ben Aben and Taylor Cottrill.  Then Cam Richardson got in on the scoring assisted by Taylor Cottrill, while Austin McKee drew a penalty on the same play.

Elmvale fought back with a short handed goal with 2:46 left in the period, but Huntsville was not to be denied.

Ty Zanetti blasted one home on the power play at 2:30 assisted by Teagen Bennett, then Taylor Cottrill finished it off on the breakaway at 2:10

All in all a great way to open the season, with early stumbles overcome with authority.  Can't wait for the next game!
