Saturday Dec. 15th at
the Jack Bionda the local lads hit the ice against the Highland
Storm. The Otters were put through their paces in the first period
with the Storm making it a tight , back and forth affair. Taylor
Cottrill got the lone goal in the first with only a few minutes left
. The second period saw the boys put the pedal down and dominate the
opposition .
Leading the charge was goalie Cole Frasier who made back to back butterflies to keep things tight. Shortly after , the levy broke seeing the Otters pump in 5 goals in the second. Captain Cole Patey continued his impressive scoring pace with a top shelfer from Kyle Mattice, Dman Tysen Robb showed his great skating beating two guys to score , some hard work from Brayden Holman paid off for Nathan Markle who buried it and then Wes Farnsworth and Robb set up Patey for two more. The third period saw more of the same with
Markle scoring from Cottrill , Cooper Haynes burying one, Cottrill scoring from Alan East , Patey scoring his 4th goal from Dman Jack Lockwood and then Kyle Mattice finished the game with 2 goals . Final score 12-3 Otters.
The Dman played a great game with a special nod to Alan East who reversed the puck, put his head up and fed it several times to the boys up for some chances. A great team party was held after with the boys and parents sharing some great food and drinks and too many old stories!!! . A great time was had by all. Thank You Jason and Kelly.
Next up for the Otters is this Saturday at the barn in Bracebridge. Game time 4:20 . Come out and support this great group of kids.
