Atom AE Otters Roll On
Another W was chalked up in the column for the local lads on Saturday December 22nd . They faced off against the South Muskoka team in one of my favorite places, the old Bracebridge barn.
After a first period which saw the Otters down a man three times , they didn’t let the referee take control of the game, they did. With the puck sliding by goalie Owen Buczek , Wes Farnsworth slid in to save a goal.
Scoring for Huntsville : The reliable Cole Patey scored unassisted while shorthanded and shortly after, Patey fed the puck to Farnsworth who buried it. Farnsworth showed great hustle all game long and was very solid.
After that it was Taylor Cottrill who grabbed the reins and tallied a hat trick with two unassisted and one from Kyle Mattice. Dman Jack Lockwood on a solo rush sniped one to make it 5 -0 . The South Muskoka team did fight back to score 2 goals but with the net empty, speedy Mattice scored to make it a 6-2 final.
Goalie Buczek showed a lot of heart playing most of the game feeling under the weather before Cole Frasier stepped in to finish the game. Great job Owen and Cole.
Its been a pleasure covering the games for this great group of kids and parents. We are all very proud of this group so far in 2012 . Way to go boys!! Next up for the turkey filled lads will be a January 3rd match up with the Port Carling squad.
