Atom AE Otters Win Back To Back
Thanks to Team Reporter Jamie Lockwood for the following article:

Saturday Oct 6th at the Jack, the Otters hit the ice against a determined Collingwood squad. Captain Cole Patey, who has been tremendous so far this season, scored from Holman to lead 1-0 . Holman also cleared the puck out of harms way with under a minute to play in the first, to keep the opposition off the board.

The second period saw the Collingwood goaltender stone Patey, Mattice and Holman from the slot to keep it tight in their end and then Nathan Markle saved a goal with a quick clearing .

Finally, Patey buried one from Holman and only 20 seconds later Cooper Haynes notched his first from a feed by Lockwood. Four big saves from Buczek including a big blocker stop with four minutes left, kept our boys in the game. Final score was 3-1 Otters.

IMG_4135.JPGOn Sunday morning in a chilly Humphrey arena, the lads took the ice against the North Muskoka team. Taylor Cottrill , after beating 3 defenders, opened the scoring with 2:00 minutes to play . The second period was a back and forth period with Cole Frasier shutting the door numerous times . Mattice scored on a nice feed from Cottrill and Patey followed up with a top shelf backhand tally to make it 3-0 .

North Muskoka got on the board with 13 seconds left to make it 3-1 heading into the third. Once again, the boys put the pedal down and opened the scoring with another Cottrill goal from Lockwood and a minute later Patey lit the lamp again on a helper from Mattice.

North Muskoka scored to try and make it close but with four minutes to play, Mattice and Lockwood scored to make it a 7-3 final. Wes Farnsworth had a strong effort chipping in 3 assists. Again, a great D-man display this weekend with East and Robb chipping in two helpers each and strong play in our end from Hildebrandt and Punchard .

A strong crowd effort was shown as well with the East family bringing in recruits to cheer us on!!. Thanks.

Great effort again from Owen Buczek and Cole Frasier between the pipes.

Coach Farnsworth leads the boys  into battle this weekend against the strong Almaguin team .
