Atom AE Otters Off To A Good Start

After wrapping up the exhibition season with a 10 – 3 victory in Bracebridge, the Otters hit the ice at the Jack Bionda Saturday afternoon against the Port Carling squad.
Huntsville came out flying , establishing a 6-0 lead at the end of the first . The Port Carling team fought back in the second not allowing the Otters a goal but the home team took over the third period and never looked back with a 17 – 0 score.
Cole Patey led the team with 6 goals , Jack Lockwood added 4 , Kyle Mattice added a hat trick , while singles were scored by Wes Farnsworth, Taylor Cottrill and Nathan Markle. Cole Frasier faced four breakaways and numerous shots in the second and turned them all away for his first shut out of the season. Good job Cole.
The Port Carling squad should be proud of the their sportsmanship and character. They fought hard from the start until the final buzzer.
Coach Jason Farnsworth will lead the charge this coming weekend with two games scheduled at the Jack. Saturday at 4:30 against South Muskoka and Sunday at 3:00 against Midland.
