Novice Rep, 2012-2013 (Huntsville Minor Hockey)

The Huntsville Novice Rep Otters are eagerly anticipating the start of the New Year after finishing out 2012 on a four game win streak. A busy December schedule saw the talented young squad face some tough competition including the Parry Sound Shamrocks, Haliburton Highland Storm and the Port Carling Thunder, but after several hard fought games, the Otters are sitting pretty in a tie for first place atop the OMHA leader board.

The Huntsville Novice Otters were on home ice this past weekend, playing host to 11 visiting teams from across the province in the 2nd Annual Duke Knox Memorial Tournament. The young squad squared off against some of Ontario's top teams and showed great strength and tenacity over the 3-day event. The Otters first opponent of the tournament was the Porquois Rec Flyers from Iroquois Falls.

The Huntsville Novice Rep Otters are the hottest ticket in town these days after posting another win yesterday at the Jack Bionda rink.  The young squad is gaining steam as they head into their home tournament this weekend where they will play host to 11 visiting teams from across Ontario – all of whom will be vying for a shot at the coveted Duke Knox memorial trophy.

Fresh off an exciting victory against their rivals, the Parry Sound Shamrocks, the Huntsville Novice Rep Otters traveled southeast this past weekend in search of some royal gold at the Annual Kings Tournament in Prince Edward County. The team kicked off the tournament with an early morning game against the high-flying Leitrim Hawks. Ben Power set the pace for the team early when he coasted in all alone and fired a blistering shot that narrowly missed the open corner of the Hawks net.

The Huntsville Novice Rep Otters were impressive this past weekend as they took to the ice in their first tournament of the season in Parry Sound.  The young squad walked away from the tourney with two wins under their belt thanks to some outstanding offense, solid defense and unbelievable goaltending. The Novice team's first opponent of the tournament was the pesky Hagersville Devils.
