Novice Otters Winning Streak Continues
The Huntsville Novice Rep Otters are the hottest ticket in town these days after posting another win yesterday at the Jack Bionda rink.  The young squad is gaining steam as they head into their home tournament this weekend where they will play host to 11 visiting teams from across Ontario – all of whom will be vying for a shot at the coveted Duke Knox memorial trophy.

In a busy three game stint last weekend, the Otters' solid play and “never give up” attitude propelled the team to a hard fought 2-2 tie against the South Muskoka Bears, a convincing 5-1 win over the Midland Centennials and an 11-3 romp over the Port Carling Thunder.  The spunky young Otters have also earned themselves a well deserved second place spot atop the O.M.H.A standings.

Led by head coach Rob Durnan, the Novice Otters continued their winning streak Sunday morning with a commanding 9-0 win over the visiting Port Carling Thunder.  Goal scorers included Jesse Taylor with 3 and Abbigail Huke with 2 while teammates Ryley DiGiacomo, Cohen Poore, Jackson Durnan and Logan Therrien added single markers of their own to bring the tally to nine.  Assisting on the Otters offensive attack were Ben Power, Preston Standing, Poore, Durnan and DiGiacomo.

Dependable blueliners Nathan Johnson and Gray Patey along with winger Kalvin Crozier, dominated game play in the Otters end helping goalkeepers Riley Knox and Ian Adams record their first shared shut out of the season.
