Coach is Impreesed with the Play.
The improvement is noted in the play of our
minor midget otters however they have yet to post a win in regular season games
against the major teams they have faced.
Last Saturday they play the major south Muskoka bears in Gravenhurst and did a
great job of keeping up with them for the first half of the game as Teagan
Meredith only let one by him.
Then the otters had some players take bears shots to the ankles and lower body parts which left them less then 100% ability to defend or take offense. Penalty trouble followed for the otters as they had 14 minutes in the sin bin compared to the Bears 6 minutes. On one Otter scoring opportunity, rookie Cody Jones was tripped when on a breakaway. This led to a unsuccessful penalty shot for Jones as the bears goalie took the shutout for the game. Final score was 6-0. The Minor Otters are looking forward to this weekend tournament playing other Minor teams to see how they compare at their Omha level. The Tournament is in Orillia and we are guaranteed 3 games.
Over all, Coach Rocky Clarke has stated he was "impressed with the teams play" and looking forward to the pay off when we play teams in our own division.
