Robinson's Independent, Novice HL, 2012-2013 (Huntsville Minor Hockey)

The South Muskoka Jamboree is next weekend! Team Independent will play Saturday, January 12, 2013 against the Bracebridge Canadiens from 4:00-4:50pm at the Bracebridge Arena. Our second game will be Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 9:00 am in Bracebridge against Near North. Points will be awarded based on a criteria that includes winning each period. There will be three ten minute periods with two minute stoppage. The Novice finals will be played Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 12:00 -12:50 pm. Go Robinson's Go!

Robinson's Independent played another solid game Saturday morning, earning a 4-2 victory over Little Caesar's. Little Caesar's opened the scoring at 5:09 of the first period, with a sliding goal by Charlie Maslin. Independent responded a minute and a half later, as Domenic Cousintine scored on a pass from Tuleigh Cameron. Both teams played hard throughout the second period, but it was Jaden Bozek who finally found the back of the net for the boys in blue. Riley Holford, playing forward for this game, and Cory Maw assisted on the play. 

Hockey Photo Day will be Sunday, November 18. Robinson's Independent are scheduled for 10:20 am, camera 1, in the shuffle board room (Active Living Centre). Please be there 20 minutes in advance. We only have a 20 minute slot, so if you are late or not dressed you will miss out. Strategically it is a good idea to have your child dress at home, however bring skates (they are laying down mats to protect the floors). If you did not receive an order form from edge imaging last night, I will have extras next Tuesday. No game this Saturday. See you next Tuesday at 5pm for practice.

A special congratulations to Liam McTavish and Toby Johnson, both of whom scored their first goals during Team Independent's 7-2 win over Near North. McTavish opened the scoring at 8:24 in the first period, assisted by Tuleigh Cameron. Cameron would then score the next two goals at 5:00 (unassisted) and 2:50, assisted by Domenic Cousinetine who had one of his best games of the season. The scoring continued in the second period with a lone effort by Sam Farnsworth at 9:13, netting his team-high fourth goal of the season.

The season is underway, and Robinson's Independent has begun the season with a 2-1-2 record. Regardless of the standings, the boys are having a great time playing hockey with their friends.
