Collingwood Blackhawks Take Home the Gold
A BIG congratulations goes out to the Collingwood Blackhawks who managed to capture the Bob Beaumont Memorial Trophy by earning a spot in the semis through a Wildcard berth.
The Blackhawks had a great run winning two out of three of their round robin games and only losing one by a single goal. They went on to defeat St. Mary's in their semi-final by a score of 1-0 which brought them to the coveted final match up facing the Dundas Blues.
It wasn't looking good for Collingwood in the first period but they came alive in the second scoring four goals, three of which were all during the 7 minute mark giving new meaning to lucky seven to this team. It was a hard fought battle on both sides but Collingwood was victorious with a final score of 5 - 4 for the Blackhawks.
Btw Collingwood - if you're reading this, please note that this is the only time I'll be nice to you and even put your logo on our website HAHAHAHA... you've earned it. :)
