PeeWee AE Otters Bring Home Silver From Silver Stick Tournament
The Jason Armstrong's Huntsville Honda PeeWee AE Otters competed in the Regional Silver Stick Tournament hosted by the Highland Storm, bringing home Silver Medals and a banner to hang at the Summit Centre.

The Otters played 5 excellent hockey games over two days and made us all very proud!

Way to go, Otters!!

The Otters started the tournament off with a resounding 5-0 win over the Douro Dukes on Saturday morning.  This game provided three periods of constant battles between the two teams at the S.G. Nesbitt Arena in Minden.

The Otters returned on Saturday afternoon to take on the Ennismore Eagles, walking away with a 3-0 win and their second shut out in as many games.

Later that evening the Otters took on the South Muskoka Bears.  From the beginning, the Otters dominated this game.  The Bears attempted to knock the Otters off their game with some very rough play, but the Otters buried them on the scoreboard, with a 6-1 final when the buzzer rang.

Sunday morning saw the Otters up against the Prince Edward County Kings in the first semi final match up of the tournament.  The Otters came out strong once again, dominating the Kings from the drop of the puck.  The Kings also attempted to knock the Otters off their game with some questionable contact, but the Otters kept their cool and remained on the ice, while the Kings spent a great deal of the game in the penalty box.  The game ended 2-1 in the Otters' favour.

After a long wait, the Otters met up with the very strong Temiskaming Puckhounds for the Championship Game on Sunday afternoon.  The game was a battle from the drop of the first puck right through the final buzzer, with end to end play throughout.  The game continuously went back and forth, with the Otters and Hounds trading goals - the score was either tied or had a one goal lead by either the Otters or the Hounds throughout three periods of play.  With 42 seconds remaining in the third period, the score was tied at 3 and the Hounds managed to find the net for the fourth time.  One of their players made a grave error by choosing to be unsportsmanlike to the Otters' bench after the goal went in and found himself in the penalty box at this very crucial time.  The Otters attempted to capitalize on this by calling a time out and setting a plan to even the score one more time.  They pulled their goalie and had a 6 on 4 advantage, but ran out of time to net one more goal.

Our Otters played 5 fantastic games of hockey.  They brought home the Silver and represented Huntsville and HMHA with their game play and sportsmanship - great job boys!!
