Fowler Atom Rep, 2013-2014 (Huntsville Minor Hockey)

After wrapping up a successful regular season with back-to-back wins, the Huntsville Atom Rep Otters were eager to test their talent at the world’s largest weekend Atom tournament – the 56th Annual Liftlock Tournament in Peterborough, Ontario. The Otters first game of round-robin play saw the team face off against a familiar opponent, the Oro Thunder.  The Otters and the Thunder had battled previously at the Oro Early Bird tournament with the Otters winning bragging rights and eventually claiming gold at the tournament.

The Atom Rep Otters played two games over the weekend and skated away with both a win and a loss after an exciting weekend of on-ice action. First up for the Otters was a tilt with the neighbouring South Muskoka Bears on Saturday afternoon.  In the rivals’ first match-up since the preseason, it was evident early on that both teams were hungry for a win. 

The Huntsville Atom Rep Otters took home the silver medal at the Prince Edward County Milk Tournament over the weekend after a narrow defeat at the hands of the hometown Kings in the championship game. In their first game of round robin action, the talented young team squared off against the Brockville Braves.  The Otters dominated play at both ends of the ice, and at the end of three periods, the Otters had earned their first victory of the tournament with a convincing 9-4 win.

The Huntsville Atom Rep Otters had plenty to be thankful for over the Thanksgiving weekend with two convincing wins over the Parry Sound Shamrocks and Haliburton Highland Storm. In Saturday afternoon action, the stellar young squad faced off against the Shamrocks for the first time this season at the Bobby Orr Community Center.
