FOR REGULAR SEASON & PLAYOFFS
MPSLL Regulation 11
All regular season games must be played within the regular season deadline. However, any game that gets postponed or delayed due to weather conditions during the last seven days of regular season, and cannot be rescheduled before the regular season deadline, shall be considered a tie, with a point being awarded to each team involved. No fines shall be levied against that Centre.
MPSLL Regulation 12
It is the option of the travelling team to cancel any game due to weather. Each centre will use every effort to notify the opposing team, at least three hours prior to game time, of its intention to cancel. Due to logistics however, an early morning scheduled game will be exempt from this three-hour requirement. The cancelling centre will still be required, however, to use its best efforts to notify of a cancellation in a timely fashion.
MPSLL Regulation 13
A minimum of 48 hours prior to game time must be given for any proposed date changes, for regular season games or setting up a playoff series and/or making changes in individual playoff games.

Hockey Canada, Rule 2.2: Players in Uniform
A minimum of six (6) eligible players in uniform on each team (which may or may not include a goaltender), are required to start a game. Please refer to Hockey Canada's Rule Book, 2024-2026 for more information.

Teams wishing to reschedule or cancel games must go coordinate with HMHA's Ice Scheduler, who will then work with the opposing centre's Ice Scheduler. Please also include:

7.012 Regular Season Schedule Changes
Teams wishing to reschedule games after the schedule has been posted on the OMHA website, must do so through their OMHA Centre Contact or their designate and the change must be approved by both centres’ OMHA Contacts and submitted within 24 hours to the League Statistician.
Any team wishing to reschedule a regular season game after October 10th of the current season, for any reason other than a weather related issue or for housekeeping purposes, shall be required to pay a fee of $100 per game that must be rescheduled.

Who decides, why it happens, and when it applies—here’s a quick guide to when games can be cancelled due to bad weather without penalties.
- Cancelling games
The authority to cancel a game lies with the Head Coach (or the Assistant Coach in their absence), in consultation with the Division Director (LL or Rep) and HMHA's OMHA Contact.
The OMHA Contact is the only member who can contact the other centre and coordinate a cancellation. No coach or manager is permitted to reach out to the other centre's coach or manager.
- Weather Advisory Requirement
A formal weather advisory must be evident on the day of cancellation.
- Timely Notification
Provide a minimum of three (3) hours' notice to the opposing team for the cancellation of the game.

Please note! If a game is cancelled, rescheduling is not guaranteed. HMHA will review each situation, and if a makeup game is necessary, it may be scheduled on a weeknight at the opposing team’s arena.
The safety of our players comes first. If you are not comfortable traveling, please decide what is best for you and your family and inform the bench staff, as soon as possible.

If your child is unable to continue or decides hockey isn't the right fit after registering, refunds options are available. However, please keep in mind all refunds will be subject to an administrative fee. Refund amounts will be issued according to the following schedule:
- 80% by October 31, 2025
- 60% by November 30, 2025
- 30% by December 31, 2025
Please note! No refunds will be issued after January 1, 2026.
The start the refund process, please email your Local League or Rep Director, along with HMHA's Registrar, outlining the player's name, team, date, and reason for the refund.
