Returning, 🏒🥅REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR HOCKEY TODAY🥅🏒 (Huntsville Minor Hockey)

This is a simple guideline map to determine if your player is eligible to register as an Overage Player.

Please note: No Single-Entry team will be allowed to roster any Overage Players unless approved by the Muskoka Parry Sound Local League (MPSLL) Committee. This approval will be restricted to a maximum of three (3) players per team for U9 - U15. A maximum of one (1) U21 (Juvenile) aged player will be approved to play on any U18 aged team upon approval of the league.

To make sure your child meets the registration deadline, reach out the HMHA Registrar. In most cases, complete the electronic registration process and once funding is available, your registration fee will be reimbursed.

REGULAR SEASON & PLAYOFFS

Regulation 11. All regular season games must be played within the regular season deadline. However, any game that gets postponed or delayed due to weather conditions during the last seven days of regular season, and cannot be rescheduled before the regular season deadline, shall be considered a tie, with a point being awarded to each team involved. No fines shall be levied against that Centre.

Regulation 12. It is the option of the travelling team to cancel any game due to weather. Each centre will use every effort to notify the opposing team, at least three hours prior to game time, of its intention to cancel. Due to logistics however, an early morning scheduled game will be exempt from this three-hour requirement. The cancelling centre will still be required, however, to use its best efforts to notify of a cancellation in a timely fashion.

Regulation 13. A minimum of 48 hours prior to game time must be given for any proposed date changes, for regular season games or setting up a playoff series and/or making changes in individual playoff games. 

INFRACTION & FINES:
1. Cancelled game without rescheduling $100.00
2. Cancelled game without proper notice $200.00

Hockey Canada, Rule 2.2 - Players in Uniform: a minimum of six (6) eligible players in uniform on each team (which may or may not include a goaltender) are required to start a game. Link to Rule Book
 
Communication Process: Teams wishing to reschedule games or need to cancel games must go through HMHAs ice scheduler who will contact the opposing centres ice scheduler. Please also include: 

• LL Division Director for that team:  (U7-11 or U13-18) Staff

Who, Why, When...here's a quick rundown on when a game can be cancelled due to bad weather without facing fines.

1. Cancelling games: The authority to cancel a game lies with the Head Coach (Assistant Coach in absence of HC), in consultation with the Division Director (LL or Rep) and HMHA's OMHA Contact.
2. HMHA OMHA Contact is the only member who can contact the other centre and coordinate a cancellation. **No coach/manager is permitted to reach out to the other centres coach/manager.**
3. Weather Advisory Requirement: A formal weather advisory must be evident on the day of cancellation.
4. Timely Notification: Provide a minimum of three (3) hours' notice to the opposing team for the cancellation of the game. 
5. MPSLL Regulations:

Please note:  If a game is canceled, there are no guarantees of rescheduling. HMHA will review situations, and if needed, rescheduled games might happen on a weeknight at the opposing center.

The safety of our players comes first. If you are not comfortable traveling - please decide what is best for you and your family and inform the bench staff asap.

No, if you already have a child enrolled in hockey with OMHA, you do not complete the Respect in Sport Parent course again. Simply access your Spordle account under the Registration tab, click Login to My Account and add member to your profile. Do not open/create another profile. If you do, you risk being required to complete the Respect in Sport Parent Course again.

You may receive emails from your team's manager and/or convener. No emails from the association will be sent to players or parents unless absolutely necessary. It's the responsibility of the player and parent/guardian to check the website regularly for any schedule changes or team information.

WHAT IF MY CHILD CAN NO LONGER PLAY/ HAS NEVER PLAYED/ DOES NOT LIKE HOCKEY AFTER REGISTRATION. ARE THERE REFUNDS AVAILABLE?

Refunds are available, but all refunds will be subjected to a $50.00 administrative fee. Refund amounts for the following timelines:

• 80% - by October 31st
• 60% - by Nov 30th
• 30% - by December 31st

No refunds will be issued after Jan 1st. The refund process will begin once you email your Local League/Rep Director and the Registrar of your refund request outlining the players name, team, date and reason for the refund.

Each year it's required that you sign the mandatory waivers provided on your Spordle (HCR) Account. See the steps.

In most cases no. Once final enrollment numbers are in, sufficient ice needs to be secured and scheduled which covers multiple age groups/divisions. We can't guarantee each year what those ice times/schedules will look like. It is the player/parent/guardian(s) responsibility to coordinate hockey and other sports schedules.
