Bench Staff Needed; Schedule Oct 12-17
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Wednesday, October 7, 2020
We are need of several bench staff before we are able to separate players into individual teams as we do not have enough coaches and trainers to cover all our teams.

Players will remain in their same groups for the week of October 12-17.

All groups and ice times will remain the same for our third week of ice, aside from two U15 groups.

If you are unsure of your scheduled date/time, you can refer to the list in the article titled: "IT'S TIME TO HIT THE ICE!!" for this information.

The U15 groups that normally skate on Monday nights have been moved to Saturday afternoon due to the Summit Centre closure on Monday, October 12th for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The U15 group that normally skates at 8:00 on Monday, will move to 3:00 on Saturday, October 17th, with the 9:00 Monday group moving to 4:00 on the same Saturday.

If you know of anyone who may not be showing up for their ice times please share that all HMHA updates are being posted on our website. If anyone has decided not to participate, please have them contact Kelly Farnsworth at: [email protected] as this information is vital to have when we are splitting up teams within the strict parameters we have regarding numbers on teams and in bubbles.

We are very short of Trainers in every division. We are short of Coaches in most divisions. Our U7, U8 and U9 divisions are extremely short of Coaches, Trainers and On-Ice Volunteers. If we do not get enough bench staff step forward, we will be unable to roster all our teams. Without rostered teams the season cannot continue for any group without enough bench staff.

This is a very different season. Our teams are smaller, so we have more of them, which means we need more bench staff. For anyone who may be sitting on the fence about volunteering, please remember the structure for hockey in Stage 3 is very different. The focus is for our kids to play hockey and have fun. Our main goal is to keep our players playing. Bench Staff may find this scenario to have less pressure for them than in regular seasons. U7, U8 and U9 continue to focus on development and fun for our beginning players. The format is 4 on 4 and 3 on 3 for U11-U18. All certifications are available online for this season, which can be done from home on your own timeline.

If you are able to volunteer to fill one of our gaps, please reach out to Greg MacMillan at:  [email protected] to discuss the specific division and position you can help out with.

See you at the rink!!
