Information Meeting Regarding the 2020-2021 Season: September 22nd
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Friday, September 18, 2020
HMHA will be hosting a Meeting regarding the format for the upcoming season on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7:00pm via Zoom.

During this meeting we will provide updated information regarding the upcoming season and will attempt to answer questions families may have.

A few points to note:
-we have submitted our Return to Hockey plan to OMHA for approval; once we have an approved plan we can apply for a Certificate of Insurance and a Certificate of Validation - if we have these in place in time, we hope to start on ice beginning Monday, September 28th
-as Registration closes end of day Tuesday, September 22nd we will begin the process of splitting kids up into their bubbles on Wednesday, September 23rd - once we have firm registration numbers, we will be able to begin to figure out how many teams of 10 (maximum) we will have and once that is determined we will then know how many coaches and trainers we will need in each division (we appreciate all bench staff who have submitted applications for this season)
-as I am sure you can all appreciate, this will not be a simple task and we will have a very short timeline to complete it - we appreciate your patience as well as your understanding that personal requests in such a scenario would be very difficult to factor into an already challenging procedure
-after September 22nd, Registration will not be available - at this point, interested players will be placed on a waiting list - wait listed players will only be added if our numbers dictate it in regards to the division bubbles - if your player wishes to play, don't miss the Registration deadline or they may be, sadly, disappointed
-our goal is to get the kids back on the ice as soon as we possibly are able to and to provide some fun and bring back a little normal to all our players as safely as we can, while accommodating all the rules and regulations from our Government, Public Health, Governing Hockey Bodies and the Town of Huntsville (it is important to remember that these rules and regulations have been implemented in an attempt to protect our players and volunteers-while this may be challenging, we feel our kids are worth it!)
-once we know how many teams we will have, we will be reaching out to bench staff
-due to such a short timeline, we will likely have to post times/groups on our website - we will post first initial and last name to protect privacy - attempts will be made to also send emails to the email address provided during registration, but timing may make this not possible - **please refer to the website for all pertinent and updated hockey information
-we realize that bench staff and families all would like information - please know that we will get it out as soon as we possibly can and we appreciate your patience
-we are very excited to get the kids back on the ice and we are relying on everyone to work together to make this as positive as we can for them
-with all the changes and short timelines it is likely that things will not be perfect (and will definitely be different than past years), but if we all keep a positive attitude and remember our common goal is to get the kids back to hockey and having fun, we will be successful

To attend the Zoom Meeting, please contact Stasi O'Hare at:  [email protected] and she will send you the login link.

Let's Go Otters - we are close to getting back to the rink!
