Important Select Information
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Tuesday, August 6, 2019
HMHA would like to make sure that the format for Select is clear prior to the season starting for all that may be interested.

Select Parameters:
-Select is an extension of Local League, allowing for participation in Select tournaments
-Select teams are permitted to attend Select Tournaments when Local League is not running - Christmas Break, Family Day Weekend and after Local League Season is complete
-Ice availability, Officials availability and planning does not allow for additional games for Select teams (Select is for tournaments only)
-Select teams will be provided 2 practices per month (based on availability), most likely during a 6:30 AM practice time slot
-Select teams can use jerseys HMHA has available to attend their tournaments
-all Select ice must be booked through HMHA's Ice Scheduler, Leslie Jones
-Select team formation will take place after all Local League Rosters are complete and Local League Schedules are set
-Select teams must be rostered prior to December 1st (even if not attending a tournament until later in the season)
-all Select expenses are over and above Local League Registration (ie practice ice, additional game socks, tournament entry fees)
Some Considerations:
-there are many available Local League tournaments that our Local League teams can participate in, where our HMHA teams might find competition levels they are seeking - if Local League tournaments are chosen prior to the Local League Scheduling Meeting, it is possible that scheduling can be accommodated to have that Local League team have a "bye" weekend on the weekend of the LL tournament in the season
-Rep/AE teams have a 20 game season, Local League teams have a 16 game season
-Rep/AE teams host a home tournament which many teams use as their main fundraising weekend to help raise funds for their tournament entries throughout the season (the hosting team does not pay to participate in their home tournament as "payment" from HMHA for running the tournament)
-Rep/AE teams pay a set Rep Fee to cover their additional practice and game ice
