Board Members Needed for 2019-2020 Season
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Friday, February 1, 2019
Huntsville Minor Hockey Association's AGM will be scheduled shortly and to make this organization operate for all our hockey players, we will looking for people to step up and fill positions on our Executive.

All Executive Positions with HMHA will be open for nomination at the upcoming AGM. Give some thought to volunteering for this Board and helping to make next season the best one yet for our HMHA players.

There are often people during the season who indicate they have ideas regarding how to improve the organization and how decisions should be made. While voices from our membership are always welcome, the time to truly make a difference is at the AGM, when you can put your name forward for a position that you feel you could make a difference by filling. With a full executive of dedicated volunteers who all have a common goal to make the upcoming season enjoyable for all our players, the workload for all positions is manageable.

The AGM will be scheduled for a date in March or April - please check the website so as not to miss. Closer to the AGM, we will release a summary of duties for all Executive Positions to give everyone a better idea of what they might be committing to, so decisions can be made if letting your name stand for a particular nomination would be a commitment you could realistically fulfill.

Currently, you can access a list of all positions under the "About Us" tab.

The way nominations work is: At the AGM, someone from the floor will nominate an individual for a position; if there is a seconder the individual will be asked if they wish to have their name stand for the position; this process will continue until there are no more nominations; if there is only one name, that person is acclaimed, if there are more than one, the membership will take a vote (ballots are handed out when our members sign in, 1 ballot per player who participated in the previous season-number of ballots are based on players, not how many parents show up for the meeting); if there are are no nominations, the position remains vacant-names can be brought forward to the new board if there are willing candidates and a decision can be made at that time as well, however, it is preferable to have all nominations brought to the AGM.

Please give some thought about volunteering your time and plan to attend the AGM.
