Winston Watson Dedication November 2nd
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Thursday, November 01, 2018
The town of Huntsville invites everyone to the dedication of the Winston Watson Display at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 2nd at the Canada Summit Centre - Don Lough lower warm viewing area.

The dedication is taking place prior to the puck drop for the Winston Watson Memorial Midget AE and Atom AE Otters Hockey tournament that takes place November 2-4 at the Canada Summit Centre.

Our community lost a much loved volunteer and caring human being with Winston's passing in 2015. Winston worked tirelessly behind the scenes with HMHA for many years as our Referee Director and was a mentor to our young officials and spent countless hours dedicated to their development. Additionally, Winston logged numerous hours as a hockey official, baseball umpire, tutor and an Occasional Teacher after his retirement as a school principal.

Winston's genuine caring and kindness was evident in all that he did. He is greatly missed by the countless people he touched in our community. Simply put, Winston was one of the good guys. If all involved in minor sports had similar values and vision that Winston brought to the sports table, the sheer number of kids that would benefit would be infinite.
