Opportunity to Play Juvenile Hockey in Muskoka
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Tuesday, August 21, 2018
South Muskoka Minor Hockey is exploring the possibility of icing a Muskoka Juvenile Team at a Representative level for the upcoming 2018-2019 season.

A Juvenile team consists of 18 and 19 year olds, with a possibility of up to six 20 year olds as overage players.

For more information, please read the following information from South Muskoka and contact them ASAP if you are interested so that they can plan accordingly and get things rolling for this season.

MUSKOKA JUVENILE INFORMATION

FOR THE 2018-2019 SEASON

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE:

The South Muskoka Board was approached by some interested players in the possibility of having a Muskoka Juvenile Team.  Currently Andy Cooke is looking into the possible teams that this team can play and what a pre-season loop would look like.

We are hoping that you might forward this letter players who played Rep or AE for your centers in the last two seasons born 2000 and 1999.

At this point the teams existence lies in the hands of the players.  We need to get a commitment of the interest so that Ice can be purchased, Sponsors can be found, Jerseys can be ordered, Coach can be hired, Tryouts (if required) can be scheduled and a regular season schedule can be planned.

As a Juvenile team can roster 25 players and ice 20 players per game, players who have School or Work commitments might still be eligible to play.  A Juvenile team is made up of players aged 18 (born 2000), aged 19 (1999) and if there are still spaces left on the rosters they can roster up to six aged 20 (1998) players.  As a question that has been asked that has been clarified by Andy Cooke is YES, if you are on this Juvenile team this means you can be ap’s to a Junior team. We also hear that the local Junior teams are very happy about this team.

Practice times, dates and locations may be varied in the scheduled to fit what is available and to accommodate players as well game schedules may be what best accommodates an away team. Registration cost cannot be determined without the numbers and we need some level of commitment in numbers to start to implement plans and workout costs. If you are definitely interested or might be interested please reply to [email protected] to let us know.

Please Share this information with anyone who might be interested and have them forward there contact information.

Enjoyment of Hockey,
