5 Otters Teams Advance to Quarter Finals

We have Game 1 of the OMHA Playdown Quarter Finals happening at the Canada Summit Centre this Saturday (February 10) for 5 of our Otters teams. Come on out and spend an exciting afternoon cheering on our Otters as the teams dig deep to rise to the challenge of playoff hockey.

The day will unfold as follows:
1:40 Jack Arena: Novice Rep vs Parry Sound Shamrocks
2:00 Don Arena: PeeWee Rep vs Collingwood Blackhawks
2:40 Jack Arena: Atom AE vs Shelburne Wolves
3:40 Don Arena: Bantam Rep vs Collingwood Blackhawks
5:10 Don Arena: Major Midget vs Collingwood Blackhawks

All 5 of these teams are beginning their quarter final series with Game 1 at home. Let's fill the Canada Summit Centre with hometown support for these Otters teams. Bring your encouragement and cheers for the Otters on Saturday and show them what home ice advantage can mean with a loud and supportive crowd. All 5 teams hit the road on Sunday for Game 2 in their respective series. You can keep up to date with all the schedules and scores by clicking on our Playoffs Page Tab. To round out your playoff hockey filled day on Saturday, stick around to cheer on our Junior C Otters at 8:00 for Game 4 in their playoff series against the Caledon Golden Hawks - anyone with a stamp from one of the earlier games that day can get into the Junior game for $2.

Playdown Summary to date:
-Novice Rep
have completed a home and home round robin within MPS against South Muskoka Bears and Parry Sound Shamrocks for the preliminary round; Huntsville Otters and Parry Sound Shamrocks emerged as the top two teams and will now play a best of 5 series for the quarter final round
-Atom AE went to 5 games with Highland Storm in the preliminary round - this series was full of exciting 1 goal games and overtime finishes
-Atom Rep went to a rare 6 games with the South Muskoka Bears to finish the best of 5 preliminary round - this series was full of one goal games, overtime and a tied finish. Unfortunately, in such a tight race there can be only one winner, and game 6 was decided by a 1-0 finish in favour of the Bears
-PeeWee AE faced off against the Elmvale Coyotes in their best of 5 preliminary round series. The Coyotes got the jump on the Otters out of the gate in the first two games, but Huntsville dug deep and figured out how to compete with them, sending game 3 to overtime and coming away with the win. Game 4 proved to be another tight race tied up until late in the game, but unfortunately the game ended with a win for Elmvale to finish the series
-PeeWee Rep met the South Muskoka Bears in their best of 5 preliminary round. The series went only 3 games with the Otters posting healthy scores against the Bears in all three games, allowing only 2 goals against in the series
-Bantam Rep met the South Muskoka Bears in their best of 5 preliminary round. The Bears came to play, but the Otters held them to just 3 games and gave up only 2 goals in the series
-Midget AE met the South Muskoka Bears in their best of 5 preliminary round. The Bears got the jump on the Otters in Game 1, but the Otters battled back in Game 2 to decrease the score differential. Game 3 was a tough back and forth battle but unfortunately saw the Bears finish the series with their third win
-Major Midget faced off against the South Muskoka Bears in their best of 5 preliminary series. The Bears had proved to be a challenging opponent for the Otters all season, but our Otters came to play and kept the series to 3 exciting 1 goal finishes to advance to the next round
