PeeWee Rep wins MPS Championship
Submitted By Greg Macmillan on Monday, January 15, 2018
A short two day tournament with a long five game road to the championship and the PeeWee's were up to the task.  The boys got off to a good start on Saturday morning with a clean 5-0 win over the Highland Storm.

The afternoon game was set up to be the biggest challenge of the day against the host Parry Sound squad.  An uphill drive playing short handed and falling behind by three the boys battled hard and the game seemed headed for overtime tied at 5 with the clock winding down.  The ever persistent Shamrocks held the pressure late getting the winner with less than a minute left and sent the Otters to the locker room frustrated with a tough loss.
The next challenge was to re-set for the evening game against the Bears and the Otters pulled together for a 3-1 victory.
Sunday's semi-final was another game against the Bears and our guys controlled the game with a 5-1 win.  The boys were off to the final and looking for redemption against the Shamrocks.  The game was eerily similar as it started with penalty trouble and a 3-1 deficit.  The team rallied and controlled the third period scoring five unanswered goals and taking the championship in a thriller that had everyone feeling a little extra adrenaline!
We are all proud of the way the team pulled together and continued to play strong through all of the challenges they faced on the weekend.
Way to go Otters!!!
