Novice Rep Otters Win Gold At Home
Submitted By Kelly Farnsworth on Monday, December 11, 2017
The Huntsville Aquadome Novice Rep Otters went 5-0 in their home tournament over the December 8-10 weekend, winning Gold and going home with the hardware.

The Otters played their first game of the tournament on Friday against the Newmarket Redmen, walking away with a strong 7-0 win.

Saturday morning saw the Otters hit the ice against the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds, with the Otters finishing with a close 3-2 win. Saturday afternoon the Otters met the Simcoe Warriors and when the final buzzer rang, it was another strong finish for the Otters with a score of 5-1. This finished the round robin play for the Otters, leaving them in first place in their division.

Sunday morning in the Otters Semi Final Game against the Mississippi Thunder Kings, our Novices came away with a 5-2 win, sending the team to the Championship later that morning. The Otters once again were matched up with the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds who had won their Semi Final Game against the Penetang Flames earlier in the morning.

The Championship Game proved to be another nail biter, but the Otters found a way to dig deep and come away with a 2-1 win, capping the weekend off with a perfect record and the title of Duke Knox Novice Rep Otters Tournament Champions.

Congratulations Otters!
