We Are Hiring! Coach & Development Facilitator
Submitted By Administrator on Tuesday, July 16, 2013
At this years AGM, there was a lengthy discussion around creating a position that will facilitate the development of teams and players as they progress through each minor hockey level.  The executive members have listened and are looking to fill the role of Coach & Development Facilitator

HMHA is seeking an individual to fill the role of Coach & Development Facilitator within our organization.  This mentoring position will work with all levels from Tyke through Midget.

We are looking for an experienced hockey coach to develop a consistent program based on the Hockey Canada fundamentals to be implemented at each level in HMHA.

The goal of implementing a Mentorship Program is to strengthen both the Long Term Player Development and the development of our hockey teams as they progress through each level.  Our goal is to have consistent skills/drills being taught at each level as a foundation and building on that as players move through the divisions.  These strengthened fundamentals will aid in the progression of skill development that is consistent at each division level, regardless of who the coach is.

The Coach & Development Facilitator will observe practice and game situations, to work with coaches to motivate, educate and demonstrate.  This role is there not to critique, but to construct and help to further develop our coaches in a cohesive and consistent manner (the Coaches help develop Players and the Mentor helps develop Coaches).

As this is a new program for HMHA, part of what we are looking for is the Coach & Development Facilitator to help construct and implement a Mentorship Program.  This will include such things as on-ice observance and participation, developing a program based on Hockey Canada fundamentals that consistently lays out what is to be focused on at each level, supporting coaches with practice designs and development, access to resources, assessment of success, support on and off the ice, running group and individual meetings with coaches as necessary.

This will be a paid part time position and remuneration will be dependent on experience.  The bulk of the work hours will be in the evenings and weekends.

If you are interested in joining the Huntsville Minor Hockey team, please submit a resume to [email protected] by July 31, 2013 @ 4:00.  HMHA thanks all those who apply for their dedication and support of HMHA, but only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
