ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING U9 MD
Huntsville Minor Hockey Association is excited to announce that it will once again be offering a U9 Minor Development (MD) team for the 2025/2026 season.Aligned with Hockey Canada's player pathways, the U9MD team will balance fun, development and competition - catering to developing players and advancing with higher skill levels.
The U9 MD program will focus on beginning to prepare our young athletes for competitive hockey; with a focus on skill enhancement and higher level competition, this program will be a cornerstone for aspiring rep hockey players.
General Overview
- For Kids aged 7 & 8 as of December 31, 2025 (U8 and U9)
- Focus on fundamental hockey skills + Power skating
- 2 practices per week along with regular games and scheduled jamborees
- Registration and evaluations to take place along with Local League timelines in September as per OMHA and OHF guidelines
- Will follow all Hockey Canada and OMHA rules and regulations including seasonal structures such as half ice.
- Additional fees will apply just like representative hockey.
