Going on a Bear Hunt.....
The Atom AE Otters were kept busy this weekend starting their first OMHA Preliminary games against the South Muskoka Bears.
In a best 2 out of 3 series. The Otters hosted the South Muskoka Bears on Saturday afternoon on the Jack. Coming away with the MPS tournament win the previous weekend. The Otters were determined and ready to tangle with the rival Bears.
A slow first period, the Otters found themselves down by one. The team then turned on the heat and applied pressure again with amazing full team effort. The Otters skated away with a 6-3 victory.
Sunday found the AE's going on a bear hunt travelling to the Bears den at the Bracebridge arena. The team was defiantly on a mission and were ready to prove themselves. An intense, fast game between these two teams, the Otters battled the Bears and achieved another victory. Winning 6-1 and eliminating South Muskoka in the first round.
Hard work, determination, a new blond flow, crowd support (including a mysterious duck call) and a birthday win for #17.(Happy Birthday Cam). Whatever the reason, the team dominated and ended the hunt quickly.
The Otters head into the next round of preliminary games against the Haliburton Storm.
