Your fees at work
Registration and representative (rep) fees are the primary sources of revenue for HMHA. Additional funds are generated through sponsorships and fundraising initiatives, including hosting home tournaments.

The largest expense for HMHA (and where majority of registration fees are allocated) is ice time. Other significant costs include paying our officials, insurance, OMHA fees, and equipment including (but not limited to) pucks and socks. We also incur smaller operating expenses, such as website costs, banking fees, and reimbursements.

Why have fees increased this year?
The cost to play hockey with HMHA is increasing for the 2025/26 season. That said, we're proud to continue offering some of the most cost-efficient registration fees in Region 5 and across the OMHA.

  •  Spring Ice
Rep fees have increased with the addition of spring evaluations and team
practices. Simply put, more ice means higher costs.
  • Town Fees
The rate for ice from the Town of Huntsville has increased by 6%.
  • Extended Season
The HMHA Board is committed to extending the season for all teams through to the March Break. While ice time may be reduced to one practice per week as teams are eliminated from playoffs, this extension still adds cost. The 2025/26 season will now run until March 8, 2026.
  • Full-Ice Practices for Local League
The HMHA Board is thrilled to announce that we have secured enough ice time to provide full-ice practices for all Local League teams in U11 to U18 for the 2025/26 season.
  • Development
HMHA is committed to providing more development opportunities for players, both in the summer and throughout the season, at affordable rates. While overall fees have increased, this helps us keep the cost of development programming low. For the 2025/26 season, HMHA will offer summer power skating sessions and goalie clinics. More details on these opportunities will be shared soon.

What more can we do to offset increasing costs?
Raising fees is just one approach to addressing rising costs. HMHA remains committed to keeping fees as low as possible and is actively pursuing alternative fundraising opportunities. We’ve secured additional ice time to host more tournaments, will be organizing a golf tournament in September, and are planning a Player Tag Day. Further details about these initiatives will be shared soon.
