On behalf of the Huntsville MBRP Minor Midget Otters we would like to thank our participating teams; Gloucester Orleans Blues, Ingersoll Express and the Lindsay Muskies. It was a great tournament with each team bringing their best to the ice during the games. In the end the Blues beat the hometown Otters in the final by the score of 4-1. Congratulations to the Blues!
Our Minor Midgets have a lot to be proud of. Going 3-0 in the round robin against opponents who brought tough competition and tested each part of our game. Our net minder Mitch was stellar only allowing 2 goals throughout the whole round robin. Our defenders of of the blue line Adam Long, Jack Elliott, GreggySmith, Jake Cooke, Boulder Boothby and Bryce Voyer were incredibly tough in the corners and defending the crease, and many times our goaltender. Great Work Boys!
Our offensive line of Scotty Cameron, Cody Purvis, and Garrett Ralph continually kept the competition guessing with quickness of feet and heads up passing. Jack Armstrong, Will Neudorf and Denver Parliament provided lots of show stopping plays around the net and in the back check leaving our opponents in your dust with your speed. Finally, our Captain Abens line with Tyler Pearse and Connor Small showed what Huntsville hockey is all about - class, finesse and heart that left the other team scrambling at both ends of the rink.
The combination of the above and the strong team atmosphere that these boys and coaches have worked hard on developing is what champions are made of. Although being second was not we had hoped, it is just a taste of what is to come. We will win the big one
