Midgets Salvage Two Wins
The MBRP Midget Otters had a three pack of home games over the weekend, coming away with two wins and a loss against the likes of Parry Sound, Collingwood, and Penetang.

Thursday night Josh Lawson was brilliant in net, stopping several breakaways late in the third period. Unfortunately for Lawson and the Otters, costly penalties would result in Parry Sound scoring two late third period goals en route to a 4-3 win. Scoring for Huntsville in the loss were Blake Schmitz, Chris Locke, and captain Connor White.

Huntsville was able to rebound Saturday night with a 4-2 win over Collingwood. Complacency resulted in the Blackhawks threatening late in the game, as Huntsville surrendered another pair of late third period goals. However, Collingwood’s rally would fall short as Tyler Miller would shut the door and hang on for the win in net. Kyler Campbell continued his strong play of late, finding the back of the net twice. Single tallies came from Russell Jones and Cam Aben.

Sunday afternoon saw the Otters address their third period woes, scoring four unanswered goals in a 5-3 win over Penetang. Ethan Murdy led the way with a hat trick, and both Schmitz and Jones netted singles to cap off the weekend.

Next on the schedule for the Majors is the Regional Silver Stick in Midland. Huntsville (17-8-2) will open their round robin Friday with a matinee against the Elmira Jr. Sugar Kings (16-2-4). Undefeated in their last 10 games, Elmira will be an enormous test for the Otters.
