MBRP Major Midgets are Golden in South Muskoka
The Huntsville Otters Major Midgets have claimed their 2nd tournament championship of the season.

The Tim Greavette Major Midget Tournament in South Muskoka this weekend was one that the boys won't soon forget as they gather their memories in their final years of Minor Hockey.
Huntsville played their first game in the tourney opener against Innisfil and came away with a 4-1 victory with 2 goals going to Jacob Schnurr, 1 to Cole Earl and 1 for Conner White. Their 2nd game saw them paired with Ingersoll Express. This game was close until 4 players from each team were ejected. This gave Huntsville the momentum and they surged ahead with a 9-3 blowout win. Game 3 was on Saturday morning against Caledonia where the Otters were the only ones to get on the board with a goal by Dylan Welsh. They played their 4th round robin game Saturday afternoon against St. George. Both teams had a chance to advance to the final but the Otters shut the door by claiming a 2-0 victory with goals by Earl and Kyler Campbell.
With a guaranteed spot in the Sunday afternoon final, the Otters had to wait to see whether it would be the Dundas Blues or their long time rivals, the South Muskoka Bears on the other bench. The final came down to 2 Muskoka teams battling it out for the hardware. It was back and forth with the Bears claiming the first point in the 1st period. The Otters answered with their own goal 7 seconds later by Earl from Schnurr. The Bears buried another in the 2nd but the Otters Nick Lavigne pushed back to tie it up. The game winner came at 6:29 in the 2nd when Adam Long capitalized on an opportunity.
The 5 MVP's for the games were Tyler Miller, Wyatt Boothby, Scott Perry, Chris Aben and Adam Long
