Stayner - Enter the Cyclones
Fresh off a loss in Powassan, Saturday night saw the Otters at home in a challenging match against the Stayner Cyclones.

Although play started out in the Cyclones end, it didn't stay there.  An errant puck was shoved though Max Farr's feet at 10:17 of the first.

The larger Stayner team took a number of penalties thoughout the game.  The first for head contact at 9:35 the Otters did not capitalize on.

Some great glove saves by Max kept the score at 1-0 until Taylor Cottrill pounced on a bad bounce, taking it all the way down the ice and scoring five hole to knot it up.

Stayner kept the pressure on, scoring one of their own on a backhand from in close at 1:37, then taking another penalty with only six seconds left in the first.

The Otters power play was ineffective to start the second, and failed again at 11:04 when Stayner when off for tripping.

An interference call against Huntsville at 6:56 was killed off by a solid team penalty kill.

Stayner once again splashed ink on the score sheet with a blast from the high slot finding twine at 1:15 and adding a hitting from behind call with again only six seconds left in the period.

The power play was still ice cold at the start of the period, but yet another Stayner penalty at 8:25 was to change that.
Austin McKee scored at 7:46 from Ty Zanetti to bring the home team back within one.

25 seconds later a huge slap shot from the point put the Cyclones back up two.

An already chippy game got chippier with offsetting minors at 6:33, followed by another Stayner goal on a wrist shot at 5:18.

The parade to the penalty box kept rolling with Stayner taking minors at 4:42 and 3:22, and an unsportsmanlike misconduct with only a minute remaining.

Try as they might, the Huntsville power play just couldn't convert their chances.

The end result, a Stayner 4-2 win and the start of a future rivalry.
