Major Midget Try Out Letter
Once you register and arrive at the first tryout you will receive a jersey which has been specifically assigned to you.  That jersey colour and number on the back will be your identification for the coaching selection team for the tryouts.  You will be required to wear that jersey during every tryout.

Player evaluation and selection will be based on the following:

·       Skating

·       Passing

·       Puck handling

·       Shooting

·       Ability to play without the puck

·       Checking skills

·       Thinking skills

·       Determination / Work Ethic

·       Knowledge of hockey team systems

·       Coachability

It is important to understand that you are trying out for a representative team and that selection to the Major Midget BB team must be earned.  Please prepare yourself for every tryout and bring your best effort!

Tips to help you are:  be well rested, keep hydrated, and have a healthy light meal beforehand.  Ensure your equipment is good to go.  i.e.: your skates are sharp!

Tryouts will consist of 4 on ice sessions from August 24th – Sept 2nd, 2015           .  Ensure you follow the HMHA website to know when the tryouts are scheduled.  Everyone is expected to be ready for each tryout a minimum of 15 minutes prior to going on the ice.

After the 2nd tryout players may be released to the second entry Midget team.  The remainder of the players will continue to skate for the remainder of the tryouts until player interviews, and final selection to the team.

Appointment to the Major Midget team will require a fitness test using the following testing procedures:  http://www.police.london.ca/Careers/Cadet_Recruiting/PDFs/Fitness_OPFA.pdf

I would like to wish you the best of luck during your tryouts, and the rest of your hockey season.
