Dalton Payne Bantam AE Silverstick Finalists
Submitted By admin on Tuesday, January 12, 2016
The Dalton Payne Bantam AE Otters travelled to Pelham for the International Silver Stick and came home feeling very proud as they skated their way right into the Finals.

The final game saw the local lads come up against a very strong Clippers team out of Stouffville which saw the Clippers win 5 – 0 .The tournament started with the Otters beating an undefeated team from south of the border 6- 0 but then faced an A level team from Sarnia which saw us skate with the strongest team we have seen all year and the Otters went down in defeat . We also lost one of our leaders and co captain as Evan Stillar suffered a tournament ending injury. Evan is recovering and the team and parents all wish you a speedy recovery.Entering the seating round, we faced off against St Marys . With only seconds left on the clock, the opponents defeated us 4 -3 . The St Marys Rock has defeated the Otters twice and we are really hoping to face them in the play offs with a full squad!! The Otters then defeated Delco 4- 1 and another team from south of the border in the semis , Mitchell Meteors, 6-1 which placed them in the Championship game on Sunday.Congratulations to the Stouffville team for winning the title game and also a large congratulations to our Bantam AE Otters who reached the finals down a few players and having won most of the their games all year despite never having a full team suited up. The parents and coaches are very proud of your accomplishments…so far !!Thank you to the sponsor, Dalton Payne , coaches Jim Simpson , Ryan Brown and head coach Rob Durnan and our manager Sharon Bennett .
