Otter Fest 2014

Hello Everyone!

Huntsville Minor Hockey is very excited to be hosting our second annual Otter Fest weekend February 21, 22, 23 2014. We are hoping that the memories and friendships this fun tournament will provide and promote will last long after the weekend is over.

We have 28 teams participating from our interlock loop;  Huntsville, South Muskoka and Almaguin so it promises to be an exciting weekend of hockey.

Please find attached the tentative schedule and rules for Otter Fest.  I say tentative because if we are able to have more ice on Saturday the 4 late games (Peewee and Bantam) in Baysville will move to the Huntsville Summit Centre.  We will not know this until later next week. The master schedule is on the first tab and I have made individual tabs for each age division.

Please make sure you check which arena you will be playing at - we have 20 games scheduled in Baysville so each division will be visiting there at some point.

Please ensure your coaches read the rules carefully.  The point system creates a lot of excitement because it isn't just about winning the game.  I am working on a way to keep our website up to date with this type of ranking system.

The conveners from each division will be asking for volunteers to assist throughout the weekend.  Please take a moment to consider their request.  They have worked hard all year and this would be a great opportunity to give back.

New this year:

There will be semi finals where 2nd and 3rd place teams (Novice thru Bantam) will playoff to meet the 1st place team in the finals

We have included the Huntsville Minor Hockey Tim Bits - so if you are around please come out and cheer on our youngest Otters!
